week 174 ~ the truth is always difficult to hear

the truth is always difficult to hear
it has an annoying propensity
to pop out of hiding post a query
and dive back in its hole to leave us peer-
ing at nothing tangible just a fear
that something’s awry I wait patiently
for you to get that independently
knowing the facts will never disappear
though you haven’t called to apologize
or written a note accepting blame still
you’ll be dodging truth constantly until
there will at some future time I surmise
come a moment you can’t escape and though
you’ll never say somehow I’m sure I’ll know
