Celebrating a Year

10.30.15I fly out to visit my daughter and the grandboys for Halloween, D’s favorite holiday. He has admonished me to bring a costume, and so I do, and spend the day in flight arriving just in time for supper. So often in my happy home, in the middle of my wonderful life, I miss this family so fiercely I can hardly bear it. So as crazy as it may seem to fly halfway across the country just for a week-end, to make these connections and see the boys as they grow, to be a boots-on-the-ground part of their life however briefly, is a necessity and a gift.

  1. Not crazy at all to be with the ones you love.
