week 142 ~ she said when we are young we love
she said when we are young we love
as we grow older it seems we’ve
forgotten how we could believe
in grace placing our heads above
our hearts the great tragedy of
wisdom oh would that I could fall
again without fear hearing all
the muses sing triumphantly
still sure that fortune will foil the
scattering winds of betrayal
Another beautiful sentiment said well! I like your style!

This was breath taking..especially with the image striking each word in a different shade…the last two lines, however, hit me hard with reality!! And the best part that I really liked the way the rhythm, flow, and feel moves on is in ‘…the great tragedy of wisdom oh would that I could fall again without fear hearing all the muses sing triumphantly…’ Hope you recuperating soon! Take care..

The poem seems so reflective of what youth had and what old age takes away….enjoyed it much.

I read this decima yesterday and it stuck in my mind throughout the day, especially the final lines. Your photograph goes beautifully with your words and your lovely smile.

Thanks, Kate– the beauty and sorrow of love are always subjects of poetry, but the ability to suspend disbelief is fleeting and that interests me.

caution is learned from misfortune, and so inevitable as we grow older. we fear falling, even if it is in love.

Awesome awesome awesome!! I think the key to unadulterated joy and bliss is that childlike innocence and that curiosity and adamant fearlessness that only children can have..
aaahhh… why are we adults so foolish at time, I wonder…
A beautiful and inspiring poem!
