week 39 ~ delight is a firefly that twinkles
delight is a firefly that twinkles
off and on in a throng of thousands to
illuminate the night I wonder who
has plotted their trajectory the full
moon meanwhile drowning all inconsequen-
tial blinks to insignificance I try
to follow mine but lose it in a sky
bleached white with important things forgotten
as we navigate blindly everyone
seems to have caught theirs and put them in jars
punching holes in the top they shine like stars
trapped out of context soon to be taken
home set on shelves momentary desire
deprived of flight helplessly leaking fire
week 7 ~ there is a still point that defines a change
there is a still point that defines a change
in direction at the moment you turn
the wheel open the door decide to burn
the bridge back your molecules rearrange
themselves without needing your permission
without expectation and if you are
very lucky the stillness will be where
you land standing quite without intention
at a bend in the road that is your life
watching the light fill up the day knowing
this is where you should be not worrying
about what will happen next take the knife
cut the string you have nothing to regret
nothing to lose you haven’t started yet
