week 343 ~ if we could always be laughing
if we could always be laughing
this moment when we resemble
the gods would not be time passing
joy wouldn’t need to dissemble
this moment when we resemble
the sunset over the water
joy wouldn’t need to dissemble
we’d be fortune’s son and daughter
the sunset over the water
beckons us on swimming like fish
we’d be fortune’s son and daughter
at the horizon all we wish
beckons us on swimming like fish
through these enchanted flowing streams
at the horizon all we wish
this time we’d salvage ship-wrecked dreams
through these enchanted flowing streams
the gods would not be time passing
this time we’d salvage ship-wrecked dreams
If we could always be laughing
week 341 ~ there are many dreams on the line
there are many dreams on the line
today luckily most come true
no missteps past regrets we do
what we expected to we divine
our horizons sliding past fine
pushing beyond acceptable
to just as intended hearts full
of joy for those we love who are
soaring toward their distant star
fired by kinetic potential
week 287 ~ as weeping willows turn to green
as weeping willows turn to green
my heart leaps up embracing spring
colors and flowers seem to bring
a hopefulness I need to lean
on with the future unforeseen
I breathe in deeply and then turn
back to the tasks at hand I yearn
to break free sometimes yet structure
sustains me much as music’s pure
joy comes mixed with lessons to learn
week 285 ~ as life’s length is uncertain for us all
as life’s length is uncertain for us all
we bleed and cry then laugh and feel the ground
beneath our feet still gladly standing tall
and if we were to fall right now the sound
would echo in a thousand hearts nay more
the ripples of our life extending on
beyond the pile of troubles at our door
beyond the dark of midnight to a dawn
of clearer understanding if not hope
bound by the ties of friendship if not love
uncertain as our reach exceeds our scope
disarmed by acts of kindness heartache of
the abyss thankfully still matters less
than the exquisite joy of humanness

beyond the dark of midnight to the dawn
