P & I escape home base to visit a nearby seaside park with a lighthouse. It’s bright and windy, a day to make one truly feel alive. Such getaways are crucial to maintaining balance in these shut-in days of the pandemic.

Days pass, as if in a dream. Some slowly, some in the blink of an eye. I downloaded about the first third of my mandolin book with corrections from the editor a couple of days ago. So I am back at my computer inputting the changes, as I was when this whole pandemic thing started in March, working on this big project for hours at a time. Usually it doesn’t take so long for a manuscript to bounce back to me for the finishing touches, but the pandemic disrupted the publisher as it did us all. I am grateful that this book will soon be out in the world, and so I review the pages with an eagle eye, making it the best possible conveyor of ideas I want out in the world.

there’s too damn much trouble
let’s have a little fun
here inside our bubble
there’s too damn much trouble
laughter counts for double
smiles lift us everyone
there’s too damn much trouble
let’s have a little fun

Discovering the joys of Messenger Kids with my grandboy S. He delights in the filters that distort his face, add cat ears, or turn him into a robot with an exploding brain. So much laughing!
