The late summer flowers begin to light up my walks. Perhaps not as longed for as the spring flowers, after our always-bleak New-England winters, but a welcome addition as the sun begins to dull the greenery.

A birthday party for P’s oldest son. So nice to hang with his boys for the evening.

week 665 ~ time stops so we move on

with 2 comments

time stops so we move on
separately ahead
accounts now overdrawn

sleepy dreams on the lawn
should be a sign instead
time stops so we move on

but where can it have gone
unheeded or misread
accounts now overdrawn

the mist of quiet dawn
o’er takes us still in bed
time stops so we move on

conclusions have been drawn
worrying a loose thread
accounts now overdrawn

desperation’s upon
us have we been misled
time stops so we move on
accounts now overdrawn

You can imagine my surprise to open my trash can to add a second bag of waste and find this critter. How the heck did he get in? How long has he been waiting to get out? I dumped him out to the sidewalk and he scurried away. Wildlife!

Weather is so changeable and very much wetter than usual this month. July is ordinarily our driest month, but this year sunny days have been few and far between.

Even as we approach summer’s peak, flowers continue to bud and bloom. As do my new duets, scheduled to be performed for the first time soon.

One of the cute and pesky critters with whom I share my yard and, sadly, the produce in my garden.

And they are off– with hardly anything forgotten for me to send to them back home. My life floats down to a quieter level although there is still work to do on the music for our August gathering. It has been lovely to be caught up in the swirl of kid energy, but there is something to be said for peaceful quiet, and having the ability to focus on a task interruption-free. My daughter texts me during her long drive with the boys and they arrive safely– onto the next leg of their odyssey.
