The d
ay is spent in my backyard– unusually warm and sunny for the season– with good friends, sorting boxes and bags of clothes, fabric, totems, photos, art, left behind by our friend Antonia. What should go to other folks in her life, what we will keep in remembrance, what is left to donate for others to find and treasure. It’s fun to share our discoveries and memories as we dig through the boxes. She was our friend, dealt a tough hand to play in life, who painted her world with color, music, and exuberance. Today we say good-bye, sorting through the vast collection of things she surrounded herself with. This is part of what love means.
