Celebrating a Year

Getting the music prepped for my summer school orchestra is the top priority this week. The rest of my to-do has to fit around that. It fills my head– possibilities, changes of key, choosing for variety, difficulty, beauty. I am fairly useless for much else during this process, including sleep. So many pieces to hold in suspension in my brain, in my mind’s ear until I can place them in a way I deem satisfactory. Sometimes I’m wrong, but the process still rewards and teaches. A logical arrangement with interest in all parts is a thing of joy.
