Celebrating a Year

Hedge trimming takes most of the day today. With winter closing in, a last opportunity to tame the wildness of summer growth, ensuring winter’s snow won’t cause damage in the months to come. We have been lulled into false complacency by our unexpectedly long stretch of warm days. But the forecast indicates that soon the season will catch up with us. And so I clip, rake, and bag up my bushes vain efforts to outgrow my plan for them.
