Celebrating a Year

My phlox, transplanted, have burst into glorious bloom. Their scent, delicate, hard to catch from a distance, always transports me back to childhood summers at my grandmother’s house, drowsily reading on the porch swing, cradled in the fragrance of phlox, as the sun bakes the lawn.
