Celebrating a Year

2-5-17Up early to start the evening’s chili before a great music session with my octet in the morning. Then a quick switch of hats refocusing the house around the TV and the fate of our NE Patriots. Yes, they are hated across the land, and their politics isn’t mine, but to me they are a bunch of talented and surprisingly humble team-first athletes who play a game I learned to love from my Dad. There’s a welcome moment of transition with a martini in front of the fire listening to the cheerful music of the French Caribbean, and then it’s friends and football and GaGa, and great food, and an amazing transformation from oh-we-have-blown-it to what?-we-won? Nice to have a day so far from the hard political realities of America-now.

    • It was truly bizarre– like 2 different games sewed together by Lady Gaga.
