Celebrating a Year

12-24-16Christmas is about family and children and song and cookies and hot cocoa after church. We venture forth in the dreary evening to sing lustily with others and celebrate. Home to cranberry martinis and abendbrod, my son-in-law A’s family tradition. And when “the children are nestled all snug in their beds” we bring down armloads of presents to surround the tree, and think of so many overlays of the same traditions that make up our lives, individually and together.

  1. It’s good to have the infusion of new traditions.
