Celebrating a Year

12-17-16Although I’ll be away for Christmas, so am eschewing a tree this year, I relent at the last moment and do set up a small version of my annual “whole earth crèche” where the Mexican holy family consorts with German angels, Indian goddesses, dancing California raisins, a whistling hedgehog, soy fish, the 3 wise ETs, and other symbols of my Christmases past. Memories– some sweet, some sad—as always, infect the celebration of holidays with each passing year.
