Celebrating a Year

8.28.16One of the more exotic island residents enjoys a spontaneous snack. We too grab handfulls of wild blackberries as we “beat the bounds,” to find and mark the outlines of our individual plots, working together to accurately establish and validate each other’s decisions. Alas it’s too hot, and too overgrown to tramp through the woods to match up all of the corners. But a swim and a nap on the beach serves as the perfect antidote. It is, after all, vacation. For our last dinner before heading home we are invited over to share pizza, wood-fired of course, and a last bit of communal cheer.

    • Yes, quite exotic for Canada. There are even peacock chicks this year!
