Celebrating a Year

7.1.16And we slide seamlessly into July– the only truly all-clear summer month for teachers, as June and more recently August still have classes ending or beginning for most. The days are hotter and more humid, although the nights are still blessedly cool. Today I am tackling the music filing and paper sorting tasks that need doing, the least satisfying, most put off, most boring on the list, because my sister and family will arrive in a couple of days and my nephew needs to be sleeping in the bad now covered with stacks of random important things that need to go elsewhere in an orderly fashion, things there wasn’t time to deal with in April or May. Luckily I get an afternoon break to watch Wales (the smallest country ever to make it this far in a Euro Cup) improbably beat Belgium (not looking like #2 in the world today), their fans chanting “Are you watching England?” Now there are two underdogs in the semi-finals. Cool.

  1. Always fun to have the underdogs make a play for the championship.
