Celebrating a Year

4.26.16A new color, a new shape, unfolds in my garden. I drive north to visit Mom, and take her out to lunch at the home of my brother and sister-in-law, who live nearby. A brief bit of family, for she does still remember that we are. It is raining and grey; spring has not arrived in New Hampshire yet, so driving home is like a trip through the door from past to future. The colors seem more vibrant as I arrive back home.

  1. When I lived in New Hampshire…we would say ‘there is winter and preparing for winter’.
