Celebrating a Year

12.20.15The most festive day, and the oldest tradition of  my Christmas, arrives– my annual Carol Sing. Friends who are near and dear, their children now teenagers and college students who have come every year of their lives, all gather to sing joyous and funny songs of the season. And this year both of my children are here with their families, making it a very special day indeed. Our theme song is The Boar’s Head, and we sing all the wassails from Gower to Gloucestershire, Deck the Halls, and ride the sleigh through the snow. We have been snowed out and in, in years past, but this year is balmy and all spirits are bright. All seems right with the world in our bubble of harmony.

    • Always a highpoint of my year, and many others as well, made sweeter by having my whole family here.
