Off north to visit Mom, choosing the warmest day of spring break so we can take her out to lunch and create a cheery break in her housebound winter. While there we encounter this surreal garden scene “planted” by friends to celebrate my sister-in-law’s upcoming birthday. Back to Boston, instead of home, and spend the evening listening to the Giant Kings‘ brand of exuberant soul music at a local bar. Live music, almost always sure to cure the winter blues.
Your sister-in-law’s friend have a fine sense of humor it would seem…years ago when I lived where there was snow…we used to pass pink flamingos between neighbors…always a surprise to find them on your lawn and fun to plan who would get them next. :-)

There is something so silly and charming about a pink plastic flamingo.
