Still life with siblings. We are decades from this photo, but still connected by responsibilities for mom, and the shared history that defines a family. Although we now pursue separate lives hundreds of miles apart, we are connected by the long-ago kingdom of childhood that we once inhabited together. The places and many of the people who were our world have disappeared, except in the memories and stories where they will remain unchanged as long as any of us are here to remember.

Thanks– these old pics evoke such memories– of the day, of my pride in the blue taffeta jumper, of my Dad trying to get us all to stand still and look cheerful at the same time…
