Celebrating a Year

3.7.13And it snows, March snow, wet, white, with fat red birds. It won’t last long as spring approaches and yet it drifts down all day heedless of its bad timing. It’s the last classes before spring break, and my students seem bemused by this inappropriate remnant of winter. But ferocious winds and horizontal blowing sleet put some teeth into the gale, as I hustle down the path to my waiting car through a cold white landscape devoid of boys in shorts or enthusiastic sports teams.
