week 228 ~ like running at a flock of birds
like running at a flock of birds
dreams scatter as I jolt awake
and cower in the shadows take
all the time you need to find words
to say what’s not yet true as herds
of nouns and vowels serenely graze
unperturbed I in morning haze
stagger downstairs needing coffee
or a new life completely free
for expectations to amaze
I completely appreciate the sentiment and love the visual of herds of nouns and verbs grazing. This is a delight. Oh, and not to mention the dreams scattering. :-) Nice!

Love the “flock of birds dreams”…in my case it’s those morning poems that “scatter” before I can find a pen or pencil…very delightful read with my morning coffee.

life without expectations, or being someone from whom none expect anything… may not be that pleasant!

True, but sometimes expectations weigh heavily.
