week 223 ~ if I were there I’d kiss you
if I were there I’d kiss you
right on the top of your head
banish pain and hug you too
so tight there I’m not instead
right on the top of your head
I’ll fasten my favorite dreams
so tight there I’m not instead
here such a long way it seems
I’ll fasten my favorite dreams
just a voice on the wire
here such a long way it seems
hoping fate is a liar
just a voice on the wire
those hard words I cannot change
hoping fate is a liar
praying time will rearrange
those hard words I cannot change
wrap up everything that’s bad
praying time will rearrange
fix the truths that make you sad
wrap up everything that’s bad
banish pain and hug you too
fix the truths that make you sad
if I were there I’d kiss you
Now that’s a fine birthday poem and wish for someone you love…I totally love “fasten my favorite dreams..” what a wonderful way to describe what the kiss on the head really means…wonderful…I will never see a kiss on the head in the same way…thanks!

Thanks Charles! I actually wrote this for my daughter who is going through a tough time. But realized later it applies to Mom as well, or anyone far away who you wish you could fix things for.

To fasten with a kiss. Lovely!
This for your mom?
Oh! Never mind, just saw your response to Charles.

Yes, daughter, mom– those we wish we could allow their hopes.
