I adhere to the list and work through my piles. First the IRS documentation for my appointment w/ the auditor when I return. I do not want to ruin the anticipated relaxed homecoming from days on my glorious island with the headache of searching for receipts. So by noon I’ve got a box of paper organized and ready for the dreaded event. Then I pack for the trip– first the music-related items, bags full, then for the week in Lubec and last of all the camping gear for the island. In the evening my friend J picks me up for a delightful farewell dinner and I’m to bed in time for a decent sleep in preparation for the long drive tomorrow. Alas, visions of schedule issues leap about in my head so by midnight I am back up on the computer taking care of errors and confusions. So short sleep, but feeling set. A decent trade-off.
