Celebrating a Year

The solstice– winter here, summer at home. Today is spent with friends. I meet Mariana for lunch and visit her brand new apartment. She is still in boxes and painting, but moved here officially a couple of days ago. An artist, she has created a ladder display as an island of sanity in the middle of the hub-bub. She is now living close to my favorite Edson Folk Museum, but it’s closed for renovations. So I walk in the park and discover that the museum’s annex is still open with a small show, and there are Rio +20 tents set up for discussions and performances. I catch one in progress. Then I’m off to Romulo & Cecilia’s to get some music, share some of my discoveries and have dinner. Home just before the downpour to pack for my adventure in Sao Paulo.
