Celebrating a Year

And the last month of summer begins. I am redoubling my rehab efforts so I’ll be back in shape for the start of school. Today I went swimming at the Y, an activity I love, for the first time since surgery. Freestyle and backstroke felt great, but breaststroke was a bit gimpy. Nevertheless, I swam a half mile and felt tired but none the worse for it. I’ve ordered ankle weights, I’m charging up the stairs, although not down so swiftly yet. I am done with this slow business and I think it’s time. Two months, and I have my last appointment w/ the surgeon tomorrow. I am as busy as this bee, captured atop the yarrow. I am ready to be whole.

  1. I can hear your impatience with the recovery process…I would imagine that the body decides more than the mind about the timing of when things can be done. :-) Ust a random thought.

  2. If I tried to swim a half mile, I’d need rehab!
