Celebrating a Year

It’s a music day– a rehearsal in the morning running right into a concert by a friend that I’m producing at my university. It’s wonderful to play my mandolin, to work out details of pieces being planned for upcoming concerts with my musical partners. And my friend and her friends present a lovely afternoon of music to celebrate the 150th birthday of French composer Claude Debussy. Hurricane Sandy is moving inexorably up the coast, and by dinnertime my classes for tomorrow have been cancelled. We’ll see what tomorrow brings, hoping the hype will exceed the reality of this approaching storm.

  2. How funny. Just before popping over here I was listening to Debussy – Mandoline was the last piece.
