This is the day, the one day each fall for the past 5 years when we 4 friends push our busy lives aside and take off together to celebrate our friendship. It’s a birthday month for 2 of us, but more than that it’s a chance to look out together at the upcoming year as, academics all, ours really begin in September. I almost blow it for us all, because of documents forgotten, lost, misplaced in the whirl of my recent chaotic life. But the 3 calmer heads prevail, plans are changed effortlessly, my papers are recovered, and we continue on with good cheer together into our sunny autumn day.
Sometimes we become so organized that we cannot find a thing…glad things worked out. :-)
