October 15, 2012
October is a funny month– part August and part November. There is still the possibility of warm walks in a T-shirt and flip-flops, but there are also days when a jacket and scarf are definitely called for. Some trees are still green here, some are turning colors and a few, like this one, are already bare. And I am skittering along like fallen leaves in the wind, trying to catch up on all fronts now that the month of pack-up-recording-concerts-insanity that completely displaced my normal life has whirled past for awhile. I am behind in grading, grocery shopping, laundry, sleep, those small necessities of an ordered life. And I want to feel again a stability in the world around me as I approach the turning of my personal year.

I remember those days in NE…one really never knew what the weather was going to be like…less of a problem here in SoCal. :-)

We’ve gone from hot spells to cool. Hasn’t been too predictable but the season in Northern California aren’t as distinct as they are by you.
That photo is absolutely gorgeous. It looks rather like embroidery on silk.
Thanks for your visit and comments, by the way.

It does, doesn’t it. I love the stark contrasts one sees at this time of year.
