“Marilynn, how many friends do you have?” queries Jack the handyman-painter. And truly they do show up all day to pack up my son’s room, things going to my daughter’s new home, and my things that need to be stored so the house can be shown for sale uncluttered. The hired guns clear out the basement to the Salvation Army and the dump and then start painting the ceilings. By day’s end progress is evident, I am exhausted and my home’s calm demeanor is severely compromised. We’re on our way!
