Celebrating a Year

A week and a day left until I go back to school, and there is music that awaits my work. I am arranging a Brazilian piece for my group, adding ideas to my 6 new compositions after the session with Luiz on Saturday, and creating clean copies of them all– a kindof tedious checking to be sure all the repeat signs and Da-Capos, that you know are there because you wrote them, are actually there in black & white so others can read them. In the afternoon I have a rehearsal w/ my friend Matt for a wedding in a couple of weeks. Always fun to compile a set list with the boy, and there’s even a chance for me to play accordion. In the evening I read through some potential pieces for arrangement for my new CD. Music all day– fun!

    • Not everyone lets me play accordion, with good reason, but Matt is v.adventurous. And really I more play AT it.

    • It is the way I best enter the world, so I squeeze it into every available corner.
