Celebrating a Year

I have not got back on my posting-daily schedule yet, although I am home and could easily do so. And when I sort through my photos in retrospect my days seem a blur, smearing into each other like a kindergartener’s finger paints. Was that today or yesterday or the day before…? And I know why. It’s because right now my creative energy is focused on music– a piece I am arranging for my group Enigmatica, and my upcoming trip to NYC to rehearse 6 new compositions with my wonderful pianist, Luiz. I am a musician, or at least an artist who is closest to music, so when I have the time and brain space to focus on it, music surges to the front of my awareness and everything else in the picture is crowded to the periphery by its glorious presence. A bit like a sunflower in a garden.

  1. We all get absorbed into various creative projects…maintaining several at one time is quite difficult.

    • True, but keeping even one alive is a victory over necessary routine.

    • The blog is a reflective corner for me– I need it in my life now, after almost 4 years.
