If you are filling a hole with sand and every shovelful disappears in and never seems to make a difference, would you continue to dig? Would you build a fence around it to keep folks from falling in, post a warning sign? Or tiptoe away and hope nobody noticed. In time, would you perhaps construct a bridge over it so that others passing would, in time, forget there was ever a hole. Would you wake in the night dreaming that somehow you had managed to fall in? Would you stand at the edge staring into the abyss, and work hard to curb your urge to jump? Random thoughts this dismal political season.

“dismal political season…” …oh my what an understatement.

very intelligent questions, most probably i will try to cover it up with a concrete slab, and leave a board warning there is an endless pit under this slab :)

This political season is indeed dismal. I don’t ever remember anything like this, unless I’ve just blocked it from memory.

Yes perhaps we have blocked something from earlier decades, but it appears Barnie Frank and Olympia Snow agree that the incivility at present is beyond anything in the past few decades.
