Life as a child is full of discoveries, for so much is unknown. And I think this is a part of childhood that it is wise to save for use later on. Who says life has to be lived in the familiar, avoiding surprises in case they may upset the balance we have so carefully created by establishing a pattern to live within. Our walls have doors, they have windows, and we would be well advised to use them. The familiar is an earned delight, but venturing out into the unknown brings its own rewards. Even if it is merely the joy of a safe return.

i so agree. i will rather not have a monotonous life. changes can mostly used for best. loved the photograph.

It was a treat to see him, released out the door from the wedding reception and immediately fascinated by a crab hiding in the rocks.

I just love this post…I think the whole issue of growing up is totally over rated…best to keep that childlike curiosity.

Thanks my friend! Curiosity is an increasingly precious attribute as we get ever older. I will never forget an 80+ friend of my grandmother’s generation grabbing my 5-year-old son’s hand and dragging him into her coat closet when he told her proudly that his sneakers glowed in the dark.
