June 26, 2011

After a spate of cold and rainy days, it seems New England summer has finally arrived. We stoic denizens of the upper right-hand corner of North America do not take this fact lightly, although we do have it easier than our Canadian continent-mates. It is too cold yet for any but a mad few to swim in the ocean, although we could almost imagine sitting on the sand and feeling its warmth in our winter-chilled bones. But it still is June, so these are merely daydreams. For now we are content to stand with the sun on our shoulders and feel winter’s burdens lift. And only wake to pull the comforter up to cover ourselves somewhere in the middle of the night.

we are having pleasant weather due to continuous rain. :)

The comforter is still on the bed, and will be probably until mid-July.

Ha! By mid-July we were already sleeping on top of the sheets and covers. Not terribly hot here, but warm enough. I suspect the heat is coming.

I remember those days…having lived in New Hamshire…I recall the two seasons…winter and preparing for winter. ;-)

The opposite of Rio, where the seasons are hot and really hot.

When I lived in The Great Lakes region, on the shores of Lake Erie, I remember how cold June could be, yet, it was my favorite month. I never thought of it as cold, but in comparison to June in the South, it’s cold. Yes, too early for a swim. You are father north than I was. Brrrr. Blessings to you…
